Seniors

Seniors (anyone over about 35) have a very important role as they continue their affiliation to Christian Endeavour through supporting it prayerfully and financially.

Groups within Seniors also meet on a regular basis, these are Alumni in Scotland, Personal Members in England and Comrades in Ireland. More information about activities in local areas can be found on this site.

Personal Members of Christian Endeavour

Over the course of many years there have been those who have had a link with Christian Endeavour, firstly as members of a Junior or Young People's Society and then have maintained strong links with the Movement either as a Personal Member or as a member of a Senior Christian Endeavour Society.

For them Christian Endeavour has been one means whereby God has brought them to a deeper knowledge of Himself; helped them gain greater understanding of the Bible and enabled them to recognise and use the abilities He has given for service in the local church and beyond.

These individuals being grateful to God for what they have received through participation within the local church-based Christian Endeavour Society are still eager to keep in touch with the on-going work.

Within the churches where Junior and/or Young people's Societies function, often a number of church members, not formerly Endeavourers themselves, take a personal interest and are keen to be kept informed of the wider work of Christian Endeavour.

One Personal Member writes:
"My experience of being a personal member for 20+ years has enabled me to keep up my contact and interest in the Christian Endeavour movement to which I owe so much in my spiritual walk with the Lord.

I am able to keep in touch with so many friends that I have made in the past over many years and also through the mid-week break where we spend those days together in fellowship. All travelling from different areas of the country to enjoy that time of spiritual blessing.

Whether we are infirm or active for our age whatever it be  we all have the wonderful privilege of supporting the movement in prayer and finance as the Lord leads us to enable the movement to move forward in the future with His guidance.

There have been many servants of God who encouraged me in my younger years for which I thank God for their encouragement and I pray that we will be ready to support those young people in our churches we all represent and all those involved in the Christian Endeavour movement toward their future lives in Christ."

  • Are you a Personal Member?
  • Do you want to become a Personal Member?
  • Your interest and desire to be associated with the work of Christian Endeavour is indeed an important ministry and one which under the blessing of God can affect the lives of hundreds and thousands.

Just as the local Society Leader, in the days when you were an Active Junior or Young People’s member, recognised you as an individual placed in their care, so we want you as a Personal Member to recognise the part which you can play in supporting the on-going work of Christian Endeavour at the local, National and International level.

What do I need to do to become a Personal Member?

  • Be interested in the work of CE
  • Pray for the work
