The British CE Award Scheme

In Christian Endeavour, children and young people are trained to serve Christ through taking part in a regular, usually weekly, church-based meeting. The British CE Award Scheme is designed to extend this training. It resembles the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme, the main difference being that all the subjects studied are connected with Church-based activities, Christian Endeavour, Bible, Christian Reading, and Practical Christian Living. Members work at a number of tasks and receive credit for each one successfully completed. Twenty tasks must be undertaken of which ten are compulsory (shown in bold on page 5) and the remaining ten can be chosen from the list on page 5. It really means that, if a meeting is run on CE lines, with the members taking part, they can receive credit for doing so - a further incentive for them to participate.
