Leaders

What do you think a leader is?
Someone special?
Are you interested in working with Juniors and Young People?
Are you interested in being trained?
We are looking for people to inspire and guide youngsters to take control of their lives.
Juniors are children of an age group embracing 8-13 years. They are encouraged and gradually trained to take part in and be responsible for their own weekly meeting.
The Young Peoples age group embraces the age group 13-21 years. The members themselves, under the guidance of the Society Leader(s), draw up a programme of meetings. Members are allocated responsibility within each meeting, taking turns to lead, read, pray, sing, give testimony or deliver an address, lead a discussion or Bible study, or whatever else may be included in the programme.
A Leader helps the children to grow in their Christian understanding, encourages them to develop their ability to excel in a large number of activities and works to bring them to a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Friend.
A wide range of resource is available
- Junior topics give the Junior Leader lesson plans and work sheets for a variety of Bible based subjects.
- YP topics give the YP Leader lesson plans for a variety of Bible based subjects.
- Senior topics give the Leader lessons for a variety of Bible based subjects.
- The Award Scheme gives the Leader information about and details of certificates, which can be achieved by the Junior or YP through the weekly meeting and in their community, developing their Christian understanding and personal skills.
Depending upon your availability it usually takes between 3 to 12 months for a committed Christian to become a fully-fledged Leader.
Why Bother?
What can give you more pleasure than the satisfaction gained from being part of the development programme for young people and the possibility of leading that person into knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
